The winter training season is finally upon us. It seems like the season just ended. With the advent of fall baseball leagues, this is not too far from the truth. For travel baseball teams, this is when it all begins. Just a couple tips as the winter training season kicks off.
Start by doing a refresher of the fundamentals with the players, regardless of age. Break each baseball action down you are teaching into parts so the players get the feel of it. This means doing the little things to groove your every move. Glove work, throwing motion work, foot work, tee work, etc. Gradually work your way up to game speed.
Once your team has got the fundamentals down, get as many “quality” reps in as you can. This means breaking the players down into stations so they are getting the work in they need to get ready for their season.
