Finishing Touches

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version
The snow is finally melting in the northern baseball areas. If you've been inside all winter, now is the time for the finishing touches. Make sure you covered all the important details.

Did you get a chance to cover baserunning? Did you work on signs, leadoffs, sliding and tagging up?

Did your catchers get proper instruction? Did you work on their footwork, their throws to bases and covering home?

What about your infielders? Did they get adequate reps at charging grounders, tagging a runner, footwork when covering a base and rundowns? Do your outfielders know which base to throw to?

Do you like to cover something before the season starts that's not on this list? Tell us about it on Twitter: @baseball_zone

I am usually hesitant to do a product plug but ideas like this is why I started Baseball Zone. Most coaches don't have the time or maybe the experience to make lists like these and make sure their team is 100% prepared for the start of the season. We make those lists and the drills that go with them so you don't have to. For less than the cost of a book, you can get started using Baseball Zone today.

Baseball Zone’s Memberships give you access to more information on the fundamentals of hitting, troubleshooting hitter problems as well as tons of information on pitching, defense and training.

Baseball Zone’s Practice Planner makes creating practice plans quick and easy. With over a hundred different drills to choose from, creating a well thought out plan is only a few clicks away.
