Becoming a Good Outfielder Checklist

  1. Sees the ball off the bat
  2. Fields on a dropped knee on base hits
  3. Takes a creep step
  4. Knows weather conditions
  5. Knows who is pitching
  6. Has good footwork
  7. Backs up his neighbors
  8. Knows game situation
  9. Knows where the plays are
  10. Gets good outfield practice
  11. Knows flyball precedence
  12. Hits the cutoff man high with a line drive throw
  13. Doesn't let balls past
  14. Get under the ball
  15. Can catch a fly ball
  16. Can catch a line drive
  17. Can get behind ball
  18. Gets on top of his throws
  19. Works on arm strength
  20. Can position himself
  21. Aware of the type of surface he is playing on
  22. Knows where the bad hops will be
  23. Sees and hears ball off the bat
  24. Gets good jumps
  25. Gets a good crow hop
